[my grammer and spelling is kinda fed right now, im a tad bit ticked off... just a teeny eensy amount ]

Hello SRF, tisk had a bad 2 hours gaming just caught a guildie botting it up at demon horses, and this came to mind. these two sayings that apply to all matters; those in real life, and even those in games such as; SRO. the sayings are: the ends doesn't justify the means, and the journey is more worthwhile than the destination.

These sayings in my almost 11 months of playing sro, basically seem missing from the mentality of players. so ask yourself this. when you play a game doesnt it feel great when you using your own two hands go from the beginning to the end. isnt the journey so exciting. learning things seeing places growing lvls. doing quest doesnt it feel so good. then when you get to the end you're like "so now what?". you spent all this time to reach this distant destination only to realize you had more fun getting there than actually being there.but then suddenly even more doors are opened and that just adds to the fun.


the second saying the ends doesn't justify the means not only applies in politics and life, but also in SRO. in sro players bot[not all bot] [thier means] in order to reach 80 [the ends] which is beleived to be when the game opens up. but their mistaken 80 is not when the game opens; because, there will always be people your respectable lvl to battle/PvP. well so why bot? i realy want an answer to this because it has been eating at me since i started this game with its damned community of lazy narrow minded players [it wasn't always like this] with its worst manifestation on Venus.

so WHY i want a god damned effin answer now, why the f would any1 forgoe the journey only to rush to the end hate it and quit. WHERE THE **** IS THE ENJOYMENT IN THAT?!

- well this has been my lit thing i dont want to call it a rant, but i guess thats what it is aint it :/. meh after typing this i feel so much better. the internets is a great place to vent frustration.

Alright I'll give you some of my thoughts.
When i was sub 80, Everyone was either below my level or above me, very few is exactly my level, and if they were, few were exactly farmed as little or as much as me. So the skills level still differs even if the level is same. At the cap when everyone is farmed and same level, this is when I truly can say that guy is my level and Im going to PVP him, and guess what, it's no longer that single person, but a whole bunch of them exactly farmed as me and same level as me. The 80 club has more members than the lv 60 club which it's members is always changing. They guy you were together with in the lv 60 club that u pvp today, might be in the 61 club tomorrow and u have to search for someone new to pvp if u want it to be same level.

The fun about leveling fast is that you can own lower level people that can't level up as fast as u. Don't u admit its fun to kill some level 25 thieves when u were a lv 30 hunters. It's not so fun when u being lv 30 getting killed by someone lv 35 out on job.
Higher level more power, more advantage, the race is on, and everone wants to win. How to win? Level up as fast as possible.

But for many being the strongest is the best part. There is no good answer to your question. Some people have different priorities. While yours maybe to enjoy the game an make friends and grind, others may be to get to the cap as quick as possible. *shrugs*

actually you can't really enjoy the game until you reach the cap because if you aren't you will get owned in jobbing and stuff. Plus, if your 80, it gives you the freedom to kill bots or other people for fun and not have to worry about losing items or deleveling too much

well people wanan reach cap cause here is nothing fn beeing low lvl, you get owned too often and no one really wanna pimp gear they will keep for a few week or so...

You can still have fun pvping people your level.

Anyone -70 will get owned jobbing while looking for a rare same or lower levelled opponent.

Anyone -70 must try over and over again to obtain a unique kill.

Anyone -70 will get killed every 20 seconds in pvp at gate.

Anyone -70 doesn't have the 'awesome' 8D weapons.




Everyone just wants to race cap because SRO has come to the position its in now

I loved being a noob, everyone did back in the days. But in SRO most players will have trouble getting fun out of those things mentioned, because it wil most likely be a waste of time and gold.

The grinding is slow and most people just can't take it.. =\ Especially nowdays with goldbots one shotting everything, everything around you at scorpions, flowers yeowas, bunwang, mujigi, ishade, penon, the caves, takla etc. People mostly either quit or bot by then. They think the only fun in the game lies in jobbing, killing uniques etc. But they will get owned anytime by anyone they meet in job suit or at tiger mountain.

People rarely risk a multistar at -70, making hunting and thiefing more and more obselete.

Mostly its just pvp at the gates and uniques getting owned within a few minutes at most.

When you're -60 there isn't much else to do but grind --> thats how most people see it.

From the moment you get owned in jobsuit for the first time you wish you were capped to show them and have that power yourself..

Partially caused by the way the game works, partially because of the majority of the players' mentality.

kids with ADD like to cheat in games they buy game guides with cheat codes they google cheat codes ect...

other people think they need to lvl x amount of fast but don't have the time

others just to see if they can

people always have their reasons to cheat, its true cheating in a game ruins the fun, like putting unlimited health on in a shooter or unlimited ammo, when i ask the kid who likes cheats he says its fun, others say its nice to just kill things with out having to worry about dying back

there are those that don't care about the hard work or the satisfaction of earning their way there or even playing fair, they like winning, and even if the victory is a hallow one to us, to them they think its just as good in fact better because they didn't have to waste alot of time or effort getting there

I'm actually refering to my best freinds little brother he likes to cheat in games, for some reason its more fun for him

lol it means they can't focus on the game long enough to grind or work hard to get there?

In the world of Silkroad, there are two kinds of players: Pimples and Pecs.

Pimples can slave away at vigorous clicking and straining of the eye. Pecs cannot handle this carpal-tunnel so they choose to cheat. By botting they are able to live their lives and enjoy the end result of silkroad. Pimples, being legit through the end, cannot live lives, so they make one out of silkroad ( a false reality for some).

Pecs view life as #1 priority, Pimples view life as #3 (silkroad,wow,life).

That is how you must view life, any less harsh and you're just sugar-coating the situation.

this is how it was for me, playing since '05.
when I started playing I didn't think it was a race to the cap, but more as building your character. you kept grinding because you wanted some new skill, or some new gear, or be able to beat someone who KS'd you in pvp.
the community was so different back then, when you were lv60 people really envy'd you, or you had a +5 weapon, people actually were amazed by that stuff back then. but now, everyone just wants to race to the cap, even the legits. by it either powerleveling or botting, all people care about this game is the PVP. this game IS about you working hard on your character, and enjoying every aspect of the game from lv1-whatever. not to get to 80asap and do alchemy and pvp all day.

literally, that's what this community as become. majority of '05 players have already quit, started botting, or few are still here. new players don't care about the game, they care about pvp. and that's all botters do. they put money into this game simply because they want to be able to sit at DW with the best gear and beat everyone in PVP. That's all they play this game for.

tbh, you should quit this game and quit MMO's or join one with a good community if you are so fed up with it, because it's always going to be like this.. and really, you play this game for enjoyment, are you enjoying it any more?

Do the ends justify the means is more of an ethical question.

And just by looking at the majority of the Silkroad community(bots), I think it's safe to say that we don't exactly have the most ethical people playing this game.

No offense to anyone.

To me the reason that people bot is that no one wants to be low level. High levels mock low levels and call them a noob. Low levels get owned in PVP and job. It all started with the lazy people that didn't want to grind started to bot. Now it has become part of the game. The legits are dying out, why? because more and more legit want to get to the cap. Personally, I have several 2x, 3x chars that I play on. When I got into 3x i lost my motivation to grind because of all the gold and player bots. If Joymax can do a decent job to ban botters and block 3rd party software the problem would go away. Joymax has already attempted to do this, but a day later the bots returned.

The biggest problem in the game is not the cheaters, but low levels the thirst [ to be the stronger and then lack the patience to ignore the botters and to keep going to finish the journey.

and we all want power ... that is one of the biggest reasons why people are playing MMORPG-s ... to gain power
and use it against someone who's weaker .... come on ...
tell me it isnt fun to you to kill a group of thiefs? or rob
something without problem?

ah comon you dont need to think much to get an answer..
getting to 80 takes an eternity so a lot of people choose to bot(some of them dislike playing for hours and some of them just dont have the time)
