SO FCK OFF with the 'grow up' line because some of us havn't yet.

Keep that in mind =\

Yeah a few things I typed were based on what I've seen in this thread. And some things are bothering me for a longer period already.

Peace

I'm not goint to try to remember some fancy proverb, but it is said and it is generally true that the people who truly are (insert whatever adjective you want) don't go around bragging about it or trying to call out others.
Same holds true with the "grow up" "maturity" arguments. I speak from forum experience (not necessarely SRF so don't come playing the "oh he's a veteran member thinking he's better than us newer folk!" crowd) that the vast majority of thsoe arguments end up coming from the younger crowd (in RL age, not forum shit) that attempt to validate themselves.

I wasn't talking about just you, but to anyone saying 'grow up'. This can either be from a kid to an adult, from an adult to a kid, adult to adult, or like you say mostly from a kid to a kid. What I'm trying to say is, people shouldn't throw it around this much, because on these forums it should be irrelevant. Yeah I know, I said it once  before you look it up and post it here.

Oh and on a sidenote... you posted this:

Quote:
Wonder if he really left this time or if he's trying to come up with an excuse.
Maybe it's just that mommy caught him on the computer and he's grounded now.

Are you looking for a conflict? =\

Just let it go, now it seems like you're just trying to piss him off.

Anywho, Im off to bed. The sun is already shining again. If I have time I'll check back later today.

I must admit that I'm getting a slight kick out of this e-fight.

In general, there are three kinds of members at SRF that are thrown into sections by their join date.

The first kind are the old ones, they used to play silkroad but quit a long time ago; they post in OTL and only post here because it's become a habit and generally don't care about the feelings of others. Usually in their late teens to twenties.

Then you have the "regulars": they think their opinions matter and say stuff like: I don't like you, you're immature, you're not funny, etc. They are usually in their early teens or mid teens. Out of these regulars there are three sub groups: the first one is the rebellious one, these guys like making posts about how bad SRF has become, how everyone is mean, how they're going to quit, etc. Like emos, they will never do it - they just complain and come back. The second group is made of the people who say they will quit and actually do leave, these ones are a bit more respectable but leave out of starvation for attention usually hogged by the old timers. The last group are the ones that worship the guys in the first group; and don't do the emo complaining about people being mean, instead they praise for it.

The last group is made of the new members. If they aren't total fucktards they aren't treated badly by the older group and become fanboys (read: the ones that love stallowned, reise, crumpets etc.) If they are fucktards, usually in their early to middle teens, they get promoted to the emo group, or eventually leave from lack of attention.

But, there are also some misfits. People like Bastet and Cin that are generally liked and do not fit into any groups - but usually this is because they are adults in their late twenties and don't get washed into all of this.

SRF is a big roleplay forum. It goes through phases, phases meaning that one group has more members and dominates another but eventually declines in membership and hands the power to another group. Right now there are a lot of emos that whine and bitch (that's why these threads keep getting made) but the fanboy population is rising.

srf's a community and just like ne neighborhood community, it goes thru changes. u know those places that used to be good to live at, but have since declined? that's srf. it'll get another make over soon enough, either a shut down or a renovation.

instead of taking yrs to change, srf goes thru its phases in months, even weeks.

hang around for a bit, u'll see a change soon enough.

Dominic, I gotta agree on everything you said.

But what got my attention was this:

i just want this phase to end up soon. SRF is bleeding and most of the members (emos that whine and bitch) jump on the insulting and bitching wagon, instead of giving constructive ideas to make this forum a good place to post and have healthy discussions.

cheers

I personally don't think SRF is decaying, but instead, the community is expanding...

with new members we are expecting more diversity in the forum. I am guessing since people who don't make stupid post usually keep things to themselves and only post when necessary, it may seem that stupid posting people are more common around here

my 98 cents, my 2 cents is free :)

Not trying to single you out but people have been saying that for almost as long as I can remember on SRF.

I think people just need to keep their personal issues to themselves- mainly the ingame ones. The occasional vent/advise thread isn't so bad.

SRF, what a place.

To be honest, i can give it a very simple visual representation.

I'm Sure Some Of You Know: Butlers Model
Image

Well, even though this is supposed to measure development in a country, or of a product, or of a resort. I think it very much applies to SRF. Even though it hurts me to say it...

Now, i will let you decide if we are A - B - C - D or E

Because you know from first hand experience?

Studies show that online dating sites have proven to work because you get to know the person's personality before their physique - and on the internet you will find people do not show restraint in their personal traits because they don't have to. For that reason, most people act the same way on the internet as they do in real life, if not in a purer form. What you're saying is demonstrative of that. Let me guess, 14 years old, you think you're cool, you're insecure, and you want to affirm that you don't belong to that little nerd group even though you post on the forums of a free korean mmo that no one in civilized world has heard about?

Being an old member is not an excuse to make boring threads everyday or attack other forum members (even if they are stupid). I hate how there are so many losers that cozy up to older members to look good.
