Good spots change from day to day and are all dependent on the server you play on. Troy, for example, has damn near no good spots on neither mages nor generals these days...

shamans? try to grind on the inside ring thing, near all the objects. bots hate objects.

if you need a safe spot for pwrlving try near the outskirts of the remains with that area with the pillars. Mobs only float there.
