I didn't write all this, a friend that quit SilkRoad to play WoW with another friend who quit did.
Okay, i know that many of you have been suffering from SRO withdrawl symtoms...Thus i shall illustrate to you the sheer brilliance that is WoW and why you should abandon faux oriental games (PW), ridiculous venitian fantasies (GE), as well as games where you fufill certain "fantasies" (Archlord - i mean Lord?Lord over what?! And if Nij is playing it, i don't really want to know)
I shall use SRO as a comparison since all of us are familiar to it.Those who wish to Cross Over can PM me and i will tell you how to set up FREE WoW (For fear that a certain Melch will decide to give Blizz a "tip-off"
1.Leveling
->SRO - Grind XXXXXXXXXX(Randomly insert numbers) to level, sadly, this isn't exaggerating. At the max level you need some insane 7 digit number to level. And SRO plans to have a max cap of 150!Good Lord!
->WoW- to level up at Max level, one only needs 500k exp. And each mob gains you 500-700 xp.The deal is that there IS no grinding on WoW, each monster you fight is different from the last. And, because of the battle interface ( which is affected by positioning) As well as a 8 sec Cooldown for potions for ALL RACES AND CLASSES (ring a bell, euro players?) there are NO BOTS. so the time taken is slightly shorter than SRO but Much more stimulating.
P.S i grinded from level 30-40 in 4 days

2.Professions
->SRO - Theif, Hunter, Trader.Sad distractions for the Max levels (theif and hunter) or a desperate bid to earn some mula for some weapon that, in real life, would burn a hole the size of Jarv's Insecurities in Bill Gate's Cavernous pocket.Any benefits? No.Any skills? No.Any fun? No.
->WoW - Alchemy,Blacksmithing,Leather-Working, Enchanting, Enginerring, Herablism, Mining, First Aid, Cooking, Posioning, Lock-Picking And much much more!Professions in WoW actually Earn you money, unlike some Other Games. They are actually fun And can grant you bonus skills, stats and effects!I.e Enginerring has a rocket launcher that can taut mobs and Alchemy has potions that enchants items.
3.Community
->SRO - Mainly Crazy turks (sad ones who actually hand grind to max level), bots (a.k.a the lazy noobs with no lives-Who Pays for a F2P game?!), Poor Turks, and life-less losers (i.e _Potter_)
->WoW - same as above, except replace 'turk' with 'Melch'.I play on Free WoW which makes My community the direct opposite of Retail WoW.People are cool, have lives, and Do Not yell "LEEEROY JENNKINSSSSS!".'Nuff said.
4.Enviornment
->SRO - Toally earth bound ( pardon the pun ^_^) you cant commit suicide from the top arc of Karakoram even if you Wanted to.Boats?what are boats?Flight?uh...tweet tweeet?
->WoW - Swim in the seas, which are a totally different landscape(oops there i go again ), with mobs, quests and herbs / mines totally sea - centered.WoW characters can also fly in the skys with aid of mounts. And last but not least, Land. Characters can jump (compared to pathetic Frost Nova-ing to jump) and can even fall to their dooms

5.GMs
->SRO-most SRO players should be asking this question right about now " whats a GM?".Has Anyone seen a GM in sro?Have They EVEN talked to us? Not even a simple "good day, greece!".
All they ever did was announce server shut-downs in Broken english("Server are about shutdown in 15 minutes" anyone?)
->WoW-On retail WoW, GMs are worse than being absent. They're nerds on a power trip ( think "may the god Zul'Man protect you").On FREE WoW, GMs are cool, they actually talk to the server (i.e "ill be back guys, my daughter's hungry") and FIX things (i.e i got ressed by a GM when the spirit healer had a bug, he was a meterosexual blood elf >.<).GMs here use accurate queen's english and are not afraid to kick ass ( i.e: <GM> Mota broadcasts : Kicked smithy from the server, Reason : How dumb can you be to insult a GM?)
6.Spells
->SRO-Most builds have the SAME spells, different builds even shared the same spells, i mean how different was Light Nuke 1 from Light Nuke 2?Furthur more, one needed a gargantuan amount of Skill points to get these skills, Making the grind worse.DOTs in sro do measily xxx damage, with only a few allowed, and the target has xxxxx HP and SPAMMABLE pots.Frostbite and other Statuses are useless with Universal Pills
->WoW-Same classes possessed different spells due to different talents (i.e Warlocks have 3 talents "demonolgy", "destruction" and "Affliction").One has a limited amount of points to invest in talents(one per level), so a warlock possesing the skill "Fel Domination" will definitely not have "Unstable Affliction".One learns skills by Quests, Trainers (where you pay to learn), Scrolls and Talents.Dots actually do damage (!!!) and statuses can only be dispell with some difficulty, making it all the more challenging
7.P.V.P
->SRO- Job, Castle Seige, Murder, Cape.Yawn.How retarded is muder?you either lose like 10% and All your SPs or grind infinite numbers of mobs.Cape = retarded, i mean ress on the spot?Castle Seige- haven't tried this so i shan't comment, but im more than sure that its as absurd as all the others.Job - an excuse for max levels with sosun + infinite to bully poor noobs trying to earn enought money for the next stack of pots
->WoW - Faction P.V.P, Warsong Gulch, Arena And Dueling. All These work under an Honour system (if you've seen it some where else, its most definitely a copy.Yawn.)If you kill people 5 levels lower than you, you Lose honour.Honour is used to buy rare items, so you can see how this works out

8.Quests
->SRO- Grind xxxxxx mobs to get some measily amount of money and 0.xxx%.Sounds familiar?Funny thing is that We were Willing to do such quests to get the much needed xp!Plotlines of these quests are usually ridiculous, irrelevent and are nonsensical excuses for NPCs to demand that you grind insane amounts of mobs for them. All in broken english
->WoW- you gain Reputation, Items, Skills, Xp and Gold with these quests. While The gold isn't much, The skills, Items and Xp are substantial.I.e a single quest can gain me 10%.No grinding on countless mobs and collecting xxxxxxxxx of a certain items that has a 0.00000000x% drop rate.Reputation allows NPCs to provide you with more goods and Services.Quests are more or less interlinked and coincide beautifully with WoW lore(see
http://www.wowwikiw.com) and range from collecting things to slaying mobs (max i've seen is 30 mobs. And im level 40) to escorts and rescues to lying to NPCs and punishing Other NPCs (<3)
9.Gear
->SRO- Even Sos isn't good enought and if it's Sosun it has to be + infinite. If you fight a dude with just One item better than you, you can just drop dead.SRO needs no skills.Even if you're 50000miles away from you target, your Character will just run to it and execute the skill.
->WoW - Items don't matter as much as skill.Skills have a limited ranged and a cast process (i.e if hit, it will take longer to cast). One must constantly move about in P.V.P to avoid getting Targeted and execute certain spells with the target in range (some spells can be executed without a target). All this boils down to SKILL.In SRO you have to hope defeating some one 5+ levels above you. In WoW it would depend on how you use your skills and how they use their's
10.Races
->SRO-Euros cant spam pots, Chinese can.Euros and chinese have unique classes.Yawn.
->WoW- Races can access certain common classes and what makes this interesting is the use of 2 Racial Skills (i.e Blood Elves have Mana Tap (drains mana) and arcane torrent (restores mana and interrupts spells), Tauren have War Stomp (A.O.E stun + damage) and 2 racial passives (i.e Blood Elves' Magic Resistance and Arcane Affinity)
11.Map Size
->SRO-minute map size.DW, Hotan, Jangan, SM and CS. Many cities are just pure Graphics.
->WoW- 2 continents And another 2 in Another Dimension.Seas Are also Exporable.75% land 25% seas.each continent is twice the size of the entire map of SRO.so WoW is some 10++ times the size of SRO.Many NPCs and Vendors in Cities That Actually sell things That can be used!Pots are monstly bought from players, as well as other goods.
12.Raids
->SRO- uh there is no such thing?
->WoW-Instances for every level group, with rare drops occuring rather often (the equalvalent of SOS).Most last 1-2 hours and are tremendous fun
13.Items System
->SRO - Can take off items you are wearing and sell them for exorbidant prices, keeping the number of SOS,SOM and SOSUN constantly expaning, making market prices ridiculous, this also leads to hacks)Items can be stored in the bank (with minute spacings) for large amounts of money.
->WoW - Soulbound, Cannnot be traded but can be sold at the NPC, Prevents Exorbidant pricing.Rare Items Can be crafted and sold, but when equipped, become soulbound.Prevents Hacking.Items can be stored in the bank for free and you may purchace additional "bag slots" with IG money
14.Guild System
->SRO - limited numbers of members, measily storage and one guild master.
->WoW - unlimited numbers of members, Huge storage, multiple guild masters (prevents the kind of tyranny Dres exhibited in BM XD).Each guild has a tablard, an insignia of the guild
15.Bots.
->SRO-rampant.Thats all im going to say.
->WoW- Postioning + Bot detection system + auto bans + pot cooldown = no bots.
As You can see, i have found a Free, Awesome game that im willing to share with everyone (Except Melch, for reasons stated above

) It would be Awesome if we could move as a union to Free WoW.I play on a "Blizz-like" server, which means the same XP and drop rates and NPCs as a Blizzard server.Feel free to PM me with questions and advice.I have also not listed many of the great things about wow due to the specific nature of these facilities and a lack of comparison in SRO.Im a level 40 Demonology Warlock in the Blood Knights Guild
Misamisa (aka Riful, aka japanese kitty girl guy wannabe wrote all that on my union forum)
Melch: A kid with a sexy voice.
Dres: Our former union leader who moved to GE, he was mean alright.
