 Post subject: Fortress war, how the damage really is calculated.

It's not the union's total damage, but the guild's total damage on the structures that win you the Fortress.
If Joymax has been clearer on this, we would had a total change in tactic.

On pacific the guild Lost_soul from the union of Viet_4ever won the fortress.

I guess the damage is like this:

5ur34L union:
guild 1 10%
guild 2 10%
guild 3 10%
guild 4 10%
guild 5 15%

Total 55%


Viet_4ever union:
guild 1 2%
guild 2 2%
guild 3 2%
guild 4 2%
guild 5 37%

Total 45%

How ever the guild 5 in the viet union did 37% most out of all the guilds in total they get the fortress!

This is evident as the unio leader Viet_4ever didn't get the fortress as the case would be if its the union's total damage would be counted and not the individuell guilds damage.

Lost soul is clearly the largest guild on the server with almost all lv 80s.

If we knew this we would transfer all our high level in union in one guild as was suggested, but was dismissed because I believe it would be a union's total damage that would be count.

We out number them, we was actually holding the heart area when it got destroyed and some how Lost_Soul got to defend the fortress.

So GG we got owned based on wrong information and wrong tactic.

shouldn't consider this siege as the perfect example for the next sieges but i think you are correct on the damage part
the guild that gets most damage on the heart itself won. other guilds are just there to help you do your damage that is probably how most of the guilds failed they were spread out defending different parts instead of giving each guild a job to do.

Main gate had 1.1m hp, recovery thing had like 500k. Random obstacles had like 100k.

Was my guild and a union guild attack the Heart, Thats the only thing our union attacked.

yeah yeah u can say what you want. When the war ended I really felt like I got the fortress robbed from me, I felt like shit. But now few hours later, it's almost like it never happened, a change in union and some strategy change, and better luck next time.

I felt the same war ,, ... sorta. Just reversed. I was 99% sure our guild name would NOT appear there cause we did **** all. Yet it did cause we ganked the heart.

I agree with Juey, it should be the unions total damage and the title of ownership goes to the leading guild of the union.

Crumpets, Juey is saying the fortress owner is the guild that SOLELY does the most damage to the heart. There are NO other factors, which i agree is kinda dodgy. Sure, tactics on your part and i got no problem with you playing the way you did.

I'm curious as to how a european guild could hold the castle... Euro's rely heavily on their equipped waepons to keep them alive.

Certainly should be the union leaders title - because they are the union leader.

First war wasn't much of a siege anyway, it was a race to the heart more than anything else. In 2 weeks, when we actually have opposing guilds on top protecting the heart, you wouldn't worry how to get more dmg on the heart but rather how to get there in the first place. You can kill 1 or 2 people camping the door, but in the end they can rez quite easily, while the people that die at the edge can't get rezed that easily because the cleric will die before getting close enough to rez.

On Pacific this is what happened.

Viete_4Ever and union didn't kill much at all, Surreal, and Lisence_2kill killed majority of the obstacles. Then after we killed everything and got to the Heart, VietE started killing all of us, which was a smart decision on their part. That's how LosT_SouL got the fortress. Viete (Sun ccfers) killing everyone =p, and Lost Soul pounding the heart.

This isn't complaining nor whining, it's what i believed happened.

Once they got the fortress, Lisence_2kill, Hmong pride, and Surreal all worked together (well, the English speaking non-illiterate Turks/Germans) They being the only ones who attacked each other.

But for sure, one of the most funnest times I've had on Silkroad in a very VERY long time. Absolutely wonderful. Next time Juey, We will have a great union to go with it. (Hmong Pride / Lisence_2Kill etc.)

my guild on aege for example, a strong guild full of lvls 80 with euro's and sosun'd out players had to defend the weaker guilds that are hammering away. no matter if ur sun'd out or a underfarmed lvl 80 i keep seeing 300 damages from the hammers coming from everyone, it was best for the stronger guild to protect the weaker guilds and take 1 for the team and let a union guild win rather than to be greedy and risking a lost.

but i do agree that it should've been the whole union's damage for balance reasons.

I'm kinda sure he's saying it was based on all the structures total dmg. Whihc IMO is bullshit.

well that is the whole point of the castle.
to work as an union for the greater result.
this probably will be more important next siege since each guild has to work not only to defend the heart but to defend all other breach points.

maybe a bit of lack on information on joymax side but the result still count since its probably the union that had most people online and worked togheter that won on all servers.

Well we were like wtf when we saw all those people at the heart waiting for us, then of course they zerked and got us by surprise. But we came back and killed all of them in the next round, but it was too late, they already done enough dmg on the heart while we were ressing, so we ended up with killing off the heart in vain, as our union were the only people there at the heart was dying.
They had an entire guild using hammers, while there were about 2-3 people from each guild in our union using hammers. No wonder an outside r guild got the fortress.

Quick question Juey my man,
How did you fare as a rogue/bard in the fortress? Did you get many kills? Or was it the wizards' aoes that saved the day / got the overwhelmingly large number of kills?
But yeah you probably should've done more research on fortress war. FrancFranc's videos made it quite clear that the GUILD wins the fortress war. Anyway, better luck next time, if you can all wake up that is. :P I know I definitely couldn't. Viete is still gonna do really well though... make sure to eliminate them early on :shock:
