I've been uppin ice and fire bolts as primary means of attack so far (22 lv atm) but as i level them on (theyr lv4 atm) they tend to eat outrageous amounts of mana, 88 for ice and 111 for fire at the moment, in general i've got under 1500 mana so thats quite alot, is it of any use to level these spells for those measly 20 damage you get ? I mean like thers no +% add, just plain raw damage for an outrageous amount of mana like 30 mana more per shot every level-up.
Lv 20 spells are even worse xD they eat 250~400 mana and i can't pot fast enough to keep my mana stable, and god do you burn alot of post too xD . any suggestions on how to effiecently use your skills with a wizard and have minimal mana burn?
And i've got a cleric sub-class so geing a bard with mana recovery doesn't wink to me ;P

Using fire bolt and ice bolt, you will NEVER run out of mana even if you spam them 1 after the other. Using a specific combination of aoe skills is the only way to run out of MP, and quite frankly it happens very little unless you have some1 luring and tanking party mobs so you can keep attacking.

Once you get in the higher levels you will probably put a bunch of int on your equips so mp will not be a problem, so don't worry about mp, level those skills because 20 dmg might seem very little , but in 3-4 levels it's like 20% less dmg, and you won't be able to 1 hit mobs.

Well i remember when i was that lvl i thought the same thing but you can repeadly spam skills and its not bad just buy extra mana pots and make sure you get AoE spells that will save you later on im lvl 68 atm and my strongest spell is meteor and that eats away like 2.8k of my 11k mana and it dosent really effect me much just dont have ur auto recovery set above 50% because then ur mana pots go bye bye quickly :D

You must have mp pots at 25% or so <.< I have pots at 50% right now at lvl 53 and I only start running out of mana when attacking non-stop a party giant with the aoe nukes and even then I pot fast enough to not get the "not enough mp" message

I guess you'll be happy with the lvl 60 ice nuke, it only consumes 288 mp :P

Actually, you should test this, set mp pots to the highest % you can where they will completely recover your mp and leave under 1k mp unrecoverable. Actually for maximum performance you will leave under 80% of the mp required for your most costly often used skill, which is probably earth shock or meteor. That way as soon as you dip below that magic % number, you will recover as much mp as possible and delay running out of mp for a lot longer than if you have them at a generic 50% or 20% simply because 15 sec later you won't be at 30% because of over usage of mp, but at say 50%. Then later on, you won't run out of mp before the next 15 sec are up, and you will have 20% left over, so you get like 1 min more nuking before runing out of mp than you would if your % was set too low. At the same time, setting it at 80% when your pots heal 40%, wastes your first pot, so that also is a bad idea.

Generally, you will never run out of mp unless you nuke nonstop for like a minute, and that happens rarely unless you are killing a party giant, in which case, just don't use those aoe attacks all the time, and instead spam fire bolt instead of meteor, it's really not that much more dmg.

question what size mp pots are you using? by lvl 20 you should be on mediums, or sub bard if you are really concerned about mp cost, just put 0 button as harp 9 as mana cycle, 8 as staff and 7 for life controll, you kill like untill you have about 1/4 mp and you hit 0,9 small pause 8, 7, and you're back in action, its fast and easy, got a 42 wizz/ bard myself, only times i used mp pots is when i wasnt' payng attention or was like giant fighting and needed a pot real fast, but for normal grinding and party grinding, you're barely be taxed to mp yourself, have tons more cash, and a 100 mp pots can carry you for almost from almost lvl 20 to 42 with out having to rebuy, If mp is your concern then a sub bard is the easiest and economic solution.

Lol auto poting euros make me laugh

Should be fine tbh :s

Only time I ever even come near to running out of mana is when I use meteor and then Salamander blow. They just rape my mp =/

I should be full INT ? NO KIDDING? I tough wizards are a must to be full STR, we are the most feared melee class aren't we now?

And yea i'm using medium pots from like early levels (those that recover 220 right?) well 220 is just the standart at lv1, now they recover like almost 500 MP.

I've already wen't Wizard/Cleric, yeah i knew i'd miss out on the mana spell and moving speed , but hey i'd prefer being extra safe with some healing and regenerating spells backing me up rather than walking faster >.<
