After seeing so many shallow, empty people posting on *certain* thread, I would like to know how shallow (or not) you are.
Stereotypes change over the years, all the time, and nowadays it seems that people (mostly youngsters) have taken it a bit too far in my opinion, with all that emo crap and mainstream music but that's another subject.
There are two kinds of people: the depressed kids that don't look like a model they saw in a magazine, or they have a few extra pounds, etc..
And the stuck up kids, that think they are so awesome and perdy/hot and shit, that discourage the first kind all the time.
Situation #1: Let's say you met a girl (or a guy) over the internet and she doesn't live too far from you, but she has no pictures nor a cam to take one. She has this incredibly amazing personality, she's charming, smart and she has a great attitude, plus her voice sounds sexy. So after a long while you decide to meet her and for your surprise she's not what you expected, in a 'bad' way according to the stereotypes, that is. What would you do?
Situation #2: There's this very hot person you like a lot but you just haven't asked him/her out yet for some reason. So you finally ask him/her out and turns out that person is really shallow, and the most clever conversation you two can keep is "I like turtles". And I'm not talking about a one night stand.
Some kids (mostly girls) are way to stuck-up and shallow to notice there's more in life than just looks, eventually all that will fade away and you will be left alone with your horrible personality.
It's like that Jack Black movie, which name I can't seem to remember
To be honest with you I don't really care about looks, that doesn't mean I'm not at least a tiny bit lookist since my baby looks incredibly beautiful, but what's important to me the most is her inner beauty. I could care less about stereotypes as I have my own tastes and need to magazine to tell me what's beautiful and what's not.
Anyway

This really depends, I mean if shes a little chubby thats fine
But if she comes walking out the door 500lbs I don't think I could deal with that

Situation #1:
I met MrFudge online. We talked on msn and the phone nearly every day and I thought his voice was like.. <3 I had never seen him, just a small blurry from-the-side msn picture until he showed up at my house at like 4am one morning and tackled me to the ground and gave me a kiss. That's how I first met him. To be honest, even if I hadn't thought he was drop-dead sexay, I know I wouldn't have minded cause I absolutely adored him for his personality at that point and there was no going back on that. So, in a hypothetical situation, looks would certainly not matter for me, cause i've kinda done the whole mystery person thing
Situation #2:
I'd probably just tell them I think they're mildly retarded and need to grow up and get over themselves before leaving them out in the cold.
BTW you said 'ito' instead of 'it' lol

That'd be Shallow Hal. :3
The turtle guy would be annoying. He can be the hottest guy on earth but if I can't even have a decent conversation with him it's going to be hopeless (Apart from the fact that he'll be a nice decoration to look at).
I hate it even more when they're arrogant and fishing for compliments, and when they don't get them, they're going to compliment themselves.
About the person with the cool attitude and the 'dissapointing' looks, I think it depends on what you expect from that person. If you expected him/her to be your new date, I think the expectations for looks will be more important than if you were just looking for a friend to have fun with.

Situation #1:
Well, if I read that correctly, this person and I would already get along, so I would expect that the friendship is most likely going to be there, regardless. However, if the physical attraction isn't there, odds are that it won't go any further than a friendship.
Situation #2:
If we can't carry on a meaningful conversation, then we're just wasting each others time.

With that first situation, it would really depend on how "disappointing" they are. But for the most part, personality > looks, because I'd rather be with someone who I can have a conversation with then someone who can't hold a logical conversation.
I think that covers the second situation as well.
The thing that could make the fist situation a bit... awkward, is the fact that I'd be with friends while meeting them; meaning that their opinions would come into account too. Honestly, if you're meeting people off the internet, you can't go wrong with a public place and familiar faces. (I know I've done that)

1) It depends on how "bad" she is.
If she's a 75 year old granny, I would run like hell.
I can see past certain physical setbacks, but everyone has a limit.
2) I don't like turtles. Anyway if you can't talk with someone, there's no point in it. Sure it would be casual no strings attached sex, but I'm looking for more.

First one.
As many have said, if its a 500 pound creature, I would probably turn and run, otherwise I'd stick around.
Second.
Well if we can't talk, its not gonna last long.

Situation 1:
If I like somebody for their personality then thats 99% of the way there already so the looks realy arent important to me at all, as long as they arent 500lbs and have lice I am sure it would work, I am no Brad Pitt either. If you can make me laugh and smile and you get me for who I am then thats all I will ever need, personality is everything... everybody realises that over time.. even the most shallow teenage girls do thats why you see hot chicks with ordinary guys because as you get older you come to see peopel for who they are. I guess some people myself included come to see that alot sooner than others do
Situation 2:
I cant be doing with shallow people, I am blunt to the point of being evil so I would tell them to Get the **** out and proceed to eat the rest of their meal and order myself a nice desert to make up for the loos of brain cells.

situation 1: i don't like meeting people over the internet
situation 2: i don't enjoy the company of people dumber than myself, but thats what friends are for, so; yes i would totally date her.
lol@casey, you do realize what humans consider a standard of beauty is in fact biological, and not controlled by the media, alas: ignorance is bliss, eh?

The only people I have ever met online are people I was introduced to online by RL friends. But 6 months? Probably a rare success story.

i think sometimes its all about qhimistry tho
sometimes you know someone you feel atracted for and that person isnt even very good looking..and you dont know why you feel atracted..
sometimes you know someone HOT and you don't rlly feel atracted
if i can't have a talk with someone, i'll stop doing stuff with that someone..
and about casey's situations
situation #1
it depends if shes like..well, really ugly, then id keep talking with her but no other stuff >.> lol
sutation #2
**** her?
well, i dont really like when someone has that habbit of steriotping evryone you know..
cause i think most ppl are unique, and if they can be in a nice environment of ppl that like em how they are, something unique will come up from that person , or in this case evryone from that group..
It really depends how you feel about yourself tho, and stuff you like..
Sometime you can be wutg a group of ppl wich you barely have anything in common but you still enjoy beeing with em..cause they make you laugh and have a good time and wierdly, making you feel good about yourself.
There can be groups that can do exactly opposite to you, make you think ru shit just to make you do something they do too, and only doing that you'll be cool.
I believe that, better alone than with a bad company..
If i dont feel like i fit in a place, or if i dont like the ppl in that place..it depends, if i rlly need something from there...a lil bit acting/lieing to get something rlly important never killed anyone..if i dont need anything from there..Bye Bye..
It really comes up to how you are lol and the way you feel about yourself
I believe if you're strong you'll never have that many problems having trouble with erm..finding a nice group of ppl or w.e
Cause the problem is the weak minded ppl..they just do w.e the others do..
Meh, i could just go on and go on..
I think you got my point tho...if you didnt, idc, cba
I blame my english lol
Just a last line, The man isnt made to be alone.
Life its about finding something/someone/some ppl, that make you feel special, or at least good.
Dont stop till you find that, peace

#1. Well this happens me once... when I was with more like "kid-mind" and... I screw her up lol... you know I just dumped her. It was rly rude from my side... but was long ago. I dont think nowadays I will do something like that.
#2. This happens to me too. One girl from school, the other class. She is hot like hell when first I saw her I was just like that and.. . for 3-4 months later I was still like that every time I see her. She is one of the most hottest girls in school... but you know what b1tches they are... so I was thinking the same "Oh screw here. You'll find better one that aint stupid" but damn I GOT LUCK ! one day she comes to me and says "HI, I`m Denni (Her name, strange even in my country nvm this) and I nearly swallowed my tongue... I sayed my name too... so we start conversation and after few minutes she gave me her phone nomber and tell me to call her to go out some day... DAMN I WAS HAPPY AS I WAS NEVER BEEN BEFORE :O she was so cute and all the thing... And I cant believe this... and then we go out... In the beganing it was fun she was still cute.. still hot but then... I realized how stupid is she... but I wanted more I mean I dont wanna **** her and then forget her... I was inlove damn it :O but she was too stupid to love some one.. I realized that she hasnt got any values...
Then I stop calling to her. Stop going out with her and etc. Just forget her.
But the sad thing is... the most very beautiful girls are extreamly stupid :| I hate this... I`m still in search of smart and hot girl or at least girls with nice personality....
Damn girls are strange creatures

Urgh, you are so wrong.. there's plenty of beautiful, smart girls out there. They just happen to be smart enough like to not show off as if it was a catwalk.
That or you're looking for the Titanic in the Grand Canyon

Ahh the catwalk... yep I start to hate that.
And beliave me... for me the beauty in one girl isnt only in this "catwalk" or the boobs or the ass... like many other thinks. Well If I only look to score some chick, yes maybe. But this isnt my type of relationships...
The beauty isnt only visual... or something that needs good personality, the human, or at least most of them have the ability to sense things. I can see some cute girl walking down the street and guess her personality even without talking to her... the bad thing in this is - this dosent happens very often and maybe I am wrong most of the times, as you see in my upper post, I was wrong to thing this girl is something diferent from the crowd of hot chicks in school... Yes she has some potential but she was just the same like all her friends "shallow" and sometimes very mindless.
However... I know many girls and most of them are smart, atractive but.. they are just friends of mine - so nothings going to happen But I love to talk with them... when you are tired from the most of the "mens talk" (lol ) the girls are aways good company
I mena when I hang out with my "crew", when we skating togheter or jsut having the ordinary fun... we usualy never talks about something seriously ... like the meaning of life or topics like that anyway with them are still quite of fun.

I know tons of girls like this...and as long as they try not to argue with me and they're pretty, well they can be as shallow as they want.

In my case, I married her. I don't care for skin and bones models; nobody is perfect.
And the best surprise in the long run was that I turned her into a geek like me She buys me radio controlled helicopters, video games, we watch Battlestar Galactica and eat buttery popcorn together.
Glad I'm not shallow!

Situation #1= Well this one is sort of a hard one, This depends if She just has like chubby cheeks sure i can deal with that i mean yeah her cheeks are a little plump but its not so bad.
But if it was let say a 500 LB girl i would let her off easy. because girls like that you can't go around hurting there feelings. They already think that they are nothing so take the time and let her go off easy. Maybe say your being shipped to Iraq or something.
Situation #2 = Well this one is sort of tough. It depends what you mean by how shallow she is. If she is just a little bit shallow and only "acts" stupid sometimes then yeah i guess that i can go with it. But let say if she was this really shallow girl who didn't really care for others then no i do not think that it would work out for me.
By the way nice idea for a topic.
