The following quote was taken from the locked topic "Why Not?":

even if they don't uphold it themselves.

I just need a clarification for the underlined clause. This does not include PK2 editing, does it? I believe Joymax doesn't allow its users to modify any of the files (not even .txt). The answer is probably obvious since we have numerous threads concerning PK2 editing. But coming straight from the Admin, I just want to know more of how general this statement is.

This also does not give any player an advantage over another player.

It's never even been reported that a player has been Banned for pk2 editing, and it's been done for a very long time now.

Dear suicide girl.

I was reading a locked thread labeled "Why not?". In this thread i noticed a your closing post before you locked the thread. The post is as follows.

Now i can respect and understand what you have just posted. I agree with what you said, but that is not the purpose of this message.

You stated that "altering the SRO client or other files is a violation" and that you wished to uphold the tos of joymax. But with this said isn't PK2 editing also an altering of the client? By your quote topics on this matter should be disallowed but yet it is allowed on this forum.

I have read in another post in which i can not source, one of the mods said that if i remember correctly "srf is not sro, and thus we do not have to uphold the rules of joymax". Now this isn't a direct quote but the quote is what i interpreted from the moderators post.

I would like to know your position on this matter if it isn't too much of a trouble getting back to me on this. If not, im sorry to bother you.

Yours truly
Ted

ted, you have really hit on a tough subject, one that we here at SRF have grappled with for a long time now. JM has never, to my knowledge, expressedly come out against pk2 editing, and as such we have never prohibited it here. i am not well-versed in the science of pk2 editing, but if i am to recall correctly it does not alter the client in any way. they HAVE, however, banned users for using altered clients, such as the no-DC one. in fact, JM has banned users in the past just because of things they have posted HERE at SRF.

being this big, we have to cover ourselves. i don't know that i answered your question in a way that satisfies you, but that's all i have.
-SG

Hope that helps you as much as it did me.

Id imagine that joymax wouldnt want people to Pk2 edit

why spend money on their item mall pets/suits when you can pk2 edit them??
they probably prefer you grinding your ass off spending money on silk so you can eventually get the future degree gears/weapons rather than pk2 editing them in and contribute to getting bored faster of the game. Im just trying to think from joymax perspective here

I don’t know that I stand on any area concerning this subject. One thing I do know is that I would take every single thing that morning dew says with a grain of salt. The only answer they can give are official ones, which can blur their answers at times. Ill tell you how thru an example. I was bored and decided to mess with one of those click a website get a penny deals. Its stupid I know, but I might get 10 bucks in 6 months so whatever. Theres little tabs by our names on the official forum and I put the referal site in the www. Button. So I asked MD if that was allowed, as I didn’t want to do anything to get banned. Well, their response was, "any discussion of silk charge methods should be discussed via bug report". As what she said may be tru to itself, and official, It was hardly relevant to the question. Mds response could well be just as misinforming concerning pk2 editing.

I think pk2 editing should just be a matter of personal judgement. You probably would never get banned for it, as most of it just changes appearances of things rather than actually affects game play. So its really up to you to make a decission as to whether you want to abuse it or not. (plus, if they don’t care about other major issues, why would pk2 editing even be an issue?)

I personally would love to change the sos, som, sosun glows, and my wolf into a jinn, but I don’t wanna go messing up and wasting time.
