I have a Memorex 2gb MP3 player, had it for about 3-4 months and its worked fine. the trouble i'm having is just getting it to install and have WMP Recognize is, which once again hasn't been a problem... any ideas? Im going to be trying a driver update soon

PS I get the little balloon in my try saying "This device isn't preforming at top speed because its not in a 2.0 port." but i don't know which ones are and are not seeing how I've tried them all and none seem to stop the problem...

Any help would be nice. thanks.

I kinda typed this in a hurry if something doesn't make sense I'll try to make it easier to understand. :)

This is it: http://www.memorexelectronics.com/html/ ... pento=1003

The 2.0 thing is just because its in a USB 1.1 port. It should affect HOW it performs, just how fast.

As for a fix, try using different software to sync. Real Player can sync a lot of devices. If its not one that can be used as a flash drive also, try using something like itunes agent that can sync from inside itunes.

If its simply not being recognized, it may well be driver issues, or that it doesnt have a drive letter assigned to it, could be many problems. Does it show up in My Computer?

It just now said something about not recognizing the device. I'm going to try a firmware update... see if that helps, they dont have the drivers up anymore on their site. Do you know if you can Sync using WinAmp? I don't see it there but im pretty sure their is one so if you happen to know tell me where to look :)

I got a "not recognized" on my USB key, and it was because it was dead. It might be firmware, but I had none.

Well. That has become the problem it doesn't seem to recognize the player at all... and when it does it tellls me that its not connected and disconnects, reconnects, back and forth. ding'n and Chime'n. I tried updating the Firmware but when i do it sees the MP3 player, then doesn't then does, then doesn't. what sucks is i tried going back to the store to just get the same thing again ( Had always worked before) and they seem to have had a policy change So i can't do that anymore. So ii've had no luck any other insight would be loved.

Not really sure what to say. Try a tech support forum, or try the makers website, see if anyone is having the same issue. Your more likely to find a fix there than here.
