I've been in this situation quite a few times, but this time around I'm seeing this from the GM perspective. I've been in quite a few small guilds that were legit and some that weren't totally legit on Oasis.

My guild was exactly how you said "imagine": small, slightly inactive, multi-character legits that was in a union with basically bots galore. I didn't mind it at all, I don't really care if a player bots, it just depends on their personalities...They might've botted to cap, but they were really fun to pvp and job with. Overall, they were good, decent and fun people that my guild enjoyed being in a union with. If your guild and yourself enjoy being with them, it shouldn't matter if they bot or not. ^,^

Finding a large legit union is difficult if not near impossible. I'd say stick with the current union. If you enjoy jobbing, grinding, or whatever you do within the union, then let that be your decision. Being part of a botting union doesn't nor should invalidate your own "morality."

Exactly, stay with your friends.
I'm part of a Guild and union that used to be semi legit, now the whole guild are botters / powerleveled by botters 24/7. Im part of this guild, and suprisinly, im actually legit. In my opinion this dosent make me Non-legit just because im friends with botters.

(if you want to know, the only reason the whole guild and uni bot is the powerstruggle on zeus. m y guild (theives), blackarmy and kaos are always fighting each other, as were evenly tied for strongest guilds on the server, so everyones trying to get ahead)

I've run into this issue with a few different unions I was in. If I have friends in my guild, I stick with them regardless of whether or not there are botters in the union. When the topic comes up, I always make it known that I do not approve of botting (but of course no one cares). I'd rather stick with friends and put up with union botters (read: ignore them entirely) than leave the guild and be alone.

What is worse is when union botters get in my grinding area and repeatedly KS me. If that happens, I won't hesitate to (attempt to) make them murderer and take their dropped equipment if I think I can handle them. I don't consider them union (they're not even at the keyboard) even though they have the same tags over their head that I do. I haven't had the opportunity so far. If you're going bot, at least turn off KS mode so others around you can grind in peace.

In the meantime, I await the banhammer. I know it's likely never going to happen.

friends will remain friends especially when you know them in real life, changing a guild or union should not change much in the relation between you and your friends.
another big problem in silkroad, people consider you automatically as an enemy if you don`t belong in their union :banghead:

Funny how that works right? When I first started playing SRO, I was in a guild with some friends that came in from myspace. It went well for a while until one member allegedly "started to whine about being able to run the guild better, blah blah...". So the guild master disbanned the entire guild, gave the empty guild to the "whiner" and started a new guild. I rejoined the original guild because I had nowhere else to go, no reason to really leave the original.

He then declared an unofficial, never ending war on the original guild and (at least claimed) to have several high level friends on the lookout to kill any of us on sight. He had no issues with me personally, but in-game declared me an enemy simply because of what guild name was over my head.

I sometimes wonder if that guild is still around at all.

What others do in this game doesn’t (or shouldn't) matter. I joined a guild that came to be pure botters minus me. I didn’t care what they did. But it got so boring I couldn’t handle it. So I just moved on to another guild. Most of which didn’t bot. The funny thing is, the primary guy that bots was more talkative then the legits. Do whats the most fun for you. Theres no reason to intergrate such drama into the game. As soon as its not fun move on. If you sit at youre keyboard white-knuckled angry at botters, why bother playing? The only thing you can control is what you do and that’s it.

Don’t allow bots to ruin in game friendships too. They can take your grinding spot, or even your kill, but don’t let them run you out of your guild.
