I did enjoy reading the strategy you posted, but the "braindead" part made you a bit cocky and think ur the best..

And for the sake.. A guild with 50sosun dudes(and a lot euros, so not really 50 sosuns ;) )... It is really hard to kill them, as for old server. As Oasis. It is hard to find already 50 legits at the time of the war, as myself. I gotta work 40 hours a week, can't be there to fight.

Anyway; Hope people can fight this way.

there are plenty of awesome silkroad players. most of them are in control of a fortress already.

the post was aimed at people who have not looked at sro from a stretegy point of view. most of them are stuck in the sro of the past. they try to overcome farmed sosun 80 players with large masses of unorganized players. wont work.

and just cuz a guild of 50 sosuns holds the fort does not mean you cant take it. with the right stetegy, the right allies, and the ability to improvise if the plan fails, you should do fine.

Fly, its in my best interest to tell you that this kind of attitude is not appreciate it here. Please feel free to share your knowledge, not push your opinions onto others. Enlighten and accept criticisms on your strategy with logics not flames.

This whole arrogant attitude thing just kills me.

Many ppl form opinions and then for some reason, get to know Avalon on a more personal level. Most find we arent what they thought. Take Rev... He once flamed me mercilessly on this forum, then he came in Vent and now I do believe he would have my e-babies as long as I offered in leather and thigh high boots.

Fly's manner of delivery isnt to everyone's taste but if he spoke to you in person for a few minutes, you'd get it. All of Avalon gets it. They get it so much we've been together for years. How many other guilds have more than 15 original members that are still here after years. Having that kind of backup is enough to make anyone confident.

Fly played AOE, an RTS game, for 8 years before coming to SRO. His knowledge of tactics is extensive and we have learned to trust it implicitly because he hasnt failed yet.

Fly may not be done with this thread, but I am. *salutes*

I don't know about others, but the only way i see Fly is through SRF. Where mostly he posts in topics related to Venus and Avalon. Therefore, I can only judge on what he posts as i don't know him in person. So you can't exactly blame us for being so harsh on him whenever he calls us, silkroad players braindead, when he portrays himself to be so.

But c'mon, you gotta admit that tactic does not work under circumstances we faced at older servers. We, those who stuck in older servers where we face strong competition from sosuns and experienced players.

Moreover, what TheEmpire done has always been impressive, in Xian or as Avalon on Venus. You guys have fought against botters and such and it is inspiring to others. The history of Fly & nightbloom is also very inspiring, which earns the respect of others, therefore contributes to the popularity of you guys and of course TE/Avalon.

Recently there has been threads about Avalon's dominance in Venus, which were very inspiring to those who struggle in their servers. You guys proved that it is impossible for legits to stand against botters, which might what Vengeance is planning to do on Hera. While reading all those threads/posts about Avalon's achievements, I feel excited which makes me want to cheer for Avalon but at the same time, a part of me gets this feeling that Avalon has been dulled by arrogance due to the same reason, which was rather disappointing. I hope this posts brings no offence to anyone, but this thread has reminded me of the quote from nightbloom's old sig. No no, I think there is. Not only did I not have up to date gear, I didnt have a single blue on my gear for that stat pic, and now I do. Ill have to redo it if you are "working" on your set. I never bother plussing or bluing things up cause I dont really need it. I could tho, being as how Fly has an endless supply of gold atm.... *shrug* Let me know how that goes for you. I think I can get it up to over 8K with little effort. lol[/quote]

nightbloom could have 10k HP, and I've seen it in a legit player in Rome... We were like 4 ppl in a party not fully farmed, not lvl80, and we pwned full farmed sun+5 ppl!

I'll try and restate what I had said prior to the thread cleanout.

If we're working in theories like most people are, then yes, it is possible for it to fail. But it is also possible for it to succeed. Really, anything is possible in theory. the application would be the same as the theory; able to both fail and to succeed.

It's not the plan that there's a problem with. It's the people attacking and people defending. However, if you see it as a base plan and adapt to your situation, there isn't any problems. If you fail then, you know you've tried your best on that particular strategy. Back to the drawing boards, better luck next time.

Suns shouldn't be used as an excuse either. Sure, they're powerful, but they're not invincible. As the saying goes, the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

haha avalon must be a real piece of work. This guy dont even like me and hes got my back. I guess he plays on Venus and thinks all servers are exactly the same. This thread is kind of a waste of time. In his server what they do works. In servers that are much older they would not have near the success they have. Nuff said.

is xian old enough for you? :P i know for a fact this would work against nike. give us 8 euro chars and a ventrilo with a few chinese players on xian who can follow orders and nike stands no chance.

im suprised bambski did not take the fortress yet...

oh and ps: i never lost a war on xian since alpha. i did not "run away" from xian. i left. the biggest reasons was the income of new players and the traffic. with no new blood the server grinded to a halt. no new members means once your old ones quit they are unreplacable. staying on xian would be a dumb tactical thing to do for my guild in the long run.

and to everyone insulted by my 1st post, grow some skin. after reading 4 weeks of crybaby threads about people who find FW unfair (oh nos a fortress is hard to enter), im not gonna use cute and cuddly words to describe those re... players :)

Fly's initial post called everyone brain dead....

That a flame or thats not a flame. Besides most if not all the post that were deleted while they may have contained a personal retaliation to the various insults avalon was flinging out they also contained valid discrepancies against this "Tactic"...why didn't you just prune out all the insults and leave the comments if it was so offensive....

this is my last post here, i know the drill if i've got a problem i'll take it up with the mod staff in PMs from now on...

I see one big flaw with the tactic, you asume that the defending guild doesnt have euros that will buff up their defenders, also if you put a rouge ontop of the gate itself 9/10 you cant select them so you cant attack the, also their range will mean that the hammers will be out of healing range of the clerics as their range is far grater than the heal range of a cleric. So once the hammers are down the warriors will have to waste a screen on the cleric so that they can go and rez the hammers, this means that the tactic will fall apart in the long run if the defenders have any sense of what they are doing.

I donno what kinda noob players u got in ur server but id 1 shot u in a heart beat with u being lower than 75 and when u have purple buff from dead.

Well I'll attempt to get this back on topic - fortress war strategies. On Venice MAD union owns fortress and they are very strong. We have the problem of only 3-4 unions will actually ally to try and take the fortress. The rest of the unions just make a big pvp match out of it and never even go to the fortress walls. Not sure if you guys have this issue but last fortress war not even 1 gate was broken down.
Unless the unions ally against a power like MAD they will never lose the fortress unless they get bored.

Unless the unions ally against a power like MAD they will never lose the fortress unless they get bored.


same thing happened the last FW for us. the 1st 3 the attackers were organized enough not kill each other. the last 1 they had no hope of anything.

if i knew that i would be the guild that won if the attack worked, id try and get the other guilds to co-op useing the money id win. might not work if the leaders are too greedy.

yeah i agreed that Fly's tactic might only work in newer server but not the old ones... too many 80s.

but i do agree his point(that's what i get from reading his posts) where teamwork, good management & experienced helps a lot in FW... & well manage euro pt are deadly....
