Well we all know of the gold buying situation and how it operates within sro at the moment.
Now this is just a thread to see people opinion on the matter. Would you rather the current situation we have atm, or would you rather have gold buying made illegal with no gold bots but rather joymam making the gold themselves and selling it directly to customers?
And please, do your best to not make this into a flame thread. I know the potential is really high but im inquisitive by nature.. i want to see how people view the issue.

The only advantage this would have is less server traffic. Gold bots would not be needed anymore, Joymax could create their own gold. But the other disadvantages would still remain. Choosing between two bad situations?

Choosing between two bad situations? Dont forget about all of the grinding spots being cleared up. The basic idea of this is, would you buy gold if they made it legal? Do you think it is ok to do it if joymax sais it is ok? Or do you still find it unethical because it gives an advantage over someone who cant get it? This is meant to get people thinking about it.. even though joymax doesn't allow it they don't prevent gold buying. So whats the difference between the two situations? Even though the law exists theres no point for it existing if its not administrated. Personally i would never buy gold even if they allowed it. I would much rather enjoy earning it myself, thats half the fun of the game. Going on trade runs, taking risks with alchemy for profit.. its enjoyable. Just a bit of thought for the people who can see what i am alluding in my posts.

gold buying should be illegal and bots should be banned and their items dropped randomly everywhere on map
why would you care about grinding if you can legally buy gold... no one would bother grinding if they can spend a little silk on it, might as well just sell the items... and they sell honor weapons practically, plvl academy with bots and buy new weapon

And why should their items be dropped on the map? So you can pick it up and get free gold?
If you truly believe they should be banned shouldnt their gold be banned too? Or else you are just killing the messenger, not the package.

As ironic as it seems, if Joymax started selling gold, it would fix a lot of problems.
- No need for goldbots. Short on cash? Silk charge time! - No powerleveling ruining the game. Why would people powerlevel for money in most cases when you can just buy it? It makes the game more enjoyable for most as they need to spend time on it. - Less server traffic. (see goldbots point)
= More money for them. (people who would normally buy gold from a bto would buy from them)

Isn't that what people are doing now? By simply buying gold thats what they are doing.
Now you are saying buying gold is ok if its for free. A bit hypocritical isn't it considering you think they should be banned?

If that was directed at me (sorry, it's hard to tell sometimes without quotes) then yes, I want them banned. I didn't mention anything about it being free, I was thinking form an item mall perspective... which would actually be a smart business venture for Joymax.

Certainly isnt the ideal solution. If JM actively sells gold, though it would fix part of the problem, it would create new ones, simply put, allowing gold to be bought from JM would destroy the game.
You could argue that gold is being bought and sold right now, and the situation isnt as dire. I still do believe, that a significant deterrant from outright deterioration of the game (should gold be freely sold), is a combination of the limit of gold supply, the attitude of players being cautious against doing business with opportunistic companies in general, and general abhorence towards gold bots and any form of support towards them.

OMG i think this is the solution for all the chain of happening that ppl in iSro and battleing about! i have the same idea as Necrobat have... but if we are the JM side, instead of earning large amounts of money they usually have, but then the opposite will happen. just look @ it!?... no more bots, right. many ppl can enter easily, very nice ^^. but the downside is if everything will be normal, only ppl buy Premium only for boost and luck and stuff. then if ppl are buying Premium just for quick access then why buy it since all goldbots are gone. no more Crowded servers. all servers are only popular. ppl will no more use Prem.

Unfortunately we live in a society driven by greed. They want it, and they want it now. To be honest, I think the thing which drives goldbuying the most is powerlevelling. Where are most people going to pull the money from at very low levels? How are they going to afford gears when they get there? *shrugs* I do agree with your view on the subject though, that if people stopped supporting them, they would go away. The loss in sales of Premiums would be more then made up in the sale of gold. If the profit of selling gold is so great as to warrant the shear number of goldbots that we do have, surely JM will make as much, if not more, then they do now.

Whats to stop ppl from buying a shitload of gold and charging back after giving it to another account =x.
It's not like anything would really change other then joymax getting more money instead of gold companies, but wouldnt gold companies just sell gold cheaper? lol.

So you think the actual problem with gold buying is the bots, not the act? This is why i created this thread. Its obvious to see the attitude of people here. My idea is stupid, i made it that way on purpose yet you agree with it. My idea was made to see if people care about the injustices in which buying gold causes, or just the fact that they cant log in. From a post like this its pretty obvious to see what i mean. If joymax made buying gold legal than everything would be inflated more than it is now. some people would buy gold more due to it being classified as legal ( though a side argument is that due to no administration of law it is now ). With more people buying gold it would cause more ccf, more inflation and more injustices to people who cant afford to do so.

True, nothing to stop that chargebacking problem. But who's to say they can't do that now? *shrugs* If Joymax started selling their own gold, they'd probably actively ban goldbots to prevent harm to their profit. (doing something = good in people's books = more $$$ for them)

I think they same reason they dont' sell gold as we can't trade silk items, is ccf and chargebacks. If some one buys gold then backcharges but like bought stuff with the gold and traded the items to their main charector, joymax is riped off, and it woudln't be good if they just removed the gold from exsistance after its been back charged because it would mostly not even be attached to the person that bought, and a large number of people doing this the server economy gets even more inflated beyond reason. Now it would eliminate a good number of gold bots but still not all, remember some people are still too cheap to ccf or backcharge but still have bots availible to them for free to get their gold for them. They would just happily keep their gold coming the free way then have to go thru the effort of ccf or chargeback or even paying for it.
Its actually better they dont' sell gold because this game is too out of controll to handle it

if selling gold would be legal, it would be impossible for Non gold buying players to still buy good gear, i guess the prices would Go up a lot since so many ppl would start buying gold then O.o.

Selling gold is a bad idea: destroy the economy, unbalance the game, the rich who has real money own the poor. It means that those who are yourger than 18 who has no credit card will have no chance to compete with other ppl.

Younger ppl are already owned by the rich and older ppl through the use of premiums, avatars, scrolls, etc. That doesnt change either till the day you die in RL. Ppl should get over it sooner rather than later.

i dont like the goldbots or the server traffic.
it ruins the game, the log in time for this game is frustrating then again, without the botted gold money will be harder to come by, because off all the things you sell or resell , part of that is bought with botted gold. many items are botted items , from elements to elixirs, to weapons and sun weapons...

Gold bots and server traffic are a pain in the ass But even for me as a non premium user i like that better then JM selling gold through item mall. There is no point playing SRO if the only thing that matters is how big your bank account is, the next step would be selling lvls and selling SP through item mall.
