I just don't get how people are such hyporits.

From the moment i joined this forum till about 2 weeks ago, everyone hated botters, and wanted them banned everywhere. Now, when action is taken, and people come to realise that some of thos botters are there 'supposed' friends, They're all shouting UNBAN UNBAN.

That's true, Legits disliked botters, but they lived in harmony here, yes people ranted about bots alot, but i don't beleive anyone hated them as such.

Now the forum has a crackdown, some of the botters here hand themselves in, and people see its people they like / look up to, which is why they call unban.


And fudge is right, only a handful of known people handed themselves in, there are quite a few (its suprising) how many botters who still are among this forum, and unlike the others, they're staying out of the arguments to keep themselves from being banned.

If they continue there illegal actions, they will get caught eventually.

Botters and 'legits' never lived in harmony here, You cannot establish a solid harmony when people are hiding there true playstyle.

This is a game forum, botters are ruining the game, the shouls be banned ingame, and on this forum. Can't see how anyone (unless totally in love with the banned person) that has ever played silkroad disagrees with that. Unless you got a nice little screen running in the background as well.

In my opinion? No. SRF is taking a stance, and should stick with it. There are no exceptions, no 'softening' circumstances.

Too much can be said about that. Though i don't believe in exceptions. If you botted once, you contributed to the downfall of a (in theory) great game.

And that's the part I wish more people would understand. Botting shouldn't be seen as socially acceptable. As far as I'm concerned, you cheat, you pay. Play right, play fair, and you're good to go.

Legits want botters to be banned IN GAME. SRF traffic is wonderfull, i can connect without any tickets, everyday, and still, we have botters here, they did nothing wrong for me.

Seems that they are treating this like a crime of murder, or cheating on the SATs. Lets get one thing staright, this isnt real life. Botting, yes its wrong and all but get over it...almost all the lvl 80s have botted thier way there. The only lvl 80s that havent botted thier way there are the ones that have been playing since the begining of the game. And Euros being lvl 80 on the new servers like Neptune etc... have botted their way there. Lvl 1 to 80 in 4 months? Yeah good luck convincing me that u were legit about getting to that level so quick. Its their choice on how they play the game and who are you to judge them? (Not directed towards anyone).

OT: Look at any MMORPG and tell me wether they except cheaters as part o fthe community, sro is the only game I've played were people don't stigmatize a cheater; especially a botter at that. Well, most of the people who actually played the game are banned so GD is going to be really quiet and boring from now on...

So what if you banned Luoma? that's no problem, but you're afraid that it's not only Luoma. Imagine if 75 % of the mod gets banned for botting, it will certainly not do any good to the confidence that people have in the staff.

The exposed botters section was a terrible mistake.
The way I see it, there are pretty much two different types of people on these forums. I'll compare them to the US political system.

The people who want all botters to be banned are the Republicans. They are conservative and think things should be done in a very specific way. They are anti-choice and say "It's my way or the highway". THEY don't have to bot, let other people make their own decitions, says I.

The people who don't want all botters to be banned are the Democrats. They are more liberal and believe people have a right to do what they want. They are pro-choice and say "I'll do things my way and you do things your way, but let's all get along, huh?". They don't have to bot, but they can if they want, and they let other people make the same decition.

I think it shouldn't be botters who are banned, it should be egomaniacs. *cough*nighbloom*cough*. Sorry nightbloom, I used to like you because you were knowledgable and nice. But now you're just an asshat who self promotes herself all the time. If you want to stroke your ego, do it on your own forum. Anyways, replying to NB but really CBA to quote uhmm your right lol .. the people who got banned so far never REALLY contributed too GD. So far we had like 20-30 random 1 post accounts who are laughing about themselves back over at oh ex. The rest hmm Luo never really came to GD, ito same coat. Ok ok there's Nyaghis but meh. That's only 1 person I can think of that contributed to the GD.
