Mentoring System
This thread is a detailed translation of the mentoring system that has been patched for the Korean Silkroad Online. The information has been taken off this webiste MMOFan
Note: In this thread I will refer to the Guardian as Mentor. Mentor would make more sense in English

Guardian is more like Guardian Angel and thats not what we'll have.
The details of the update is whatever the Korean servers decided to implement and does not necessarily represent the implementation our International servers would get.
Disclaimer: This guide is posted only in SRF, the official SRO forum, MMOsite, and maybe Silkroad Tavern. Copies are fake unless otherwise stated by me. The translations has been done by hand.
Introduction
The mentoring system would give opportunities to novice players to learn different aspect of the game from more experienced players with ease. Until the graduation of his pupils the mentor will act as an advisor whenever his pupils face difficulties with the game system.
Opening a Mentor Office
Any player above level 60 can open a Mentor Office through the storage NPC at the cost of 1 million gold. From this point on, a "Mentor" will refer to any player that has opened his own Office.
Joining a Mentor Office
Any mentor can make use of the Matching UI to advertise for his Office.
Any player under level 60 can search/apply to belong in a Mentor Office through the use of the Office Matching UI. Ultimately the mentor will decide who to take as his pupils from the list of applicants.
A mentor can have up to
- 5 Pupils (level 1 - 39)
- 2 Assistant Mentors (level 40 - 59)
Note: Pupils and Assistant Mentors are both treated as a Pupil unless otherwise state.
A pupil can only belong to one Office (i.e. study under one mentor)
When a pupil enters the office, he will be listed in the Mentor/Pupil UI.
A mentor and his students will be shown as red dots on the minimap
Culmulative and Reserved Buffs
The students under a mentor will accumulate additional experience via hunting and divide the accumulated ratio in the form of a buff. Through this buff the mentor and his student can acquire extra experience while hunting.
Cumulative Buff
When a pupil hunts the "cumulative buff icon" will appear on the top left of the screen. It will store a certain ratio of experience (Note: but will not take away from the original experience value given to him)
From 24 hours after the start of the accumulation, the buff will not store any more experience points.
Reserved Buff
When the mentor is online, the student can "transmit" the buff to his mentor. The mentor will receive 20% of the culmulative buff, and the student will receive 80% of the culmulative buff.
The reserved buff will disappear 24 hours after the "transmission" regardless of whether it has been used or not.
The accumulated experience value in the reserved buff will decrease and be added to the experience gain while hunting.
Note: This system sounds confusing enough. Here's an example.
Let's say the culmulative buff will accumulate 10% of the pupil's exp gain.
- Pupil hunts 10 mobs x 100 exp each = buff contains 1,000 exp.
- Pupil transmits the buff.
- Mentor gets 200 on his reserved buff.
- Student gets 800.
Let's say the mentor and the student will use 10% of the reserved buff while hunting.
- Mentor is hunting. For each mob he will lose 20 experience points from the reserved buff and gain 20 additional exp.
- Same with student, he will lose and gain 80 exp points.
Graduating
When the pupil reaches level 40. He can graduate by using the Mentor/Pupil UI. The pupil will receive 50% of the experience (at level 40) and the mentor will receive rewards (discussed later) upon his student's graduation.
- The mentor wil receive the reward only if the pupil joined his office before level 30.
Note: The assistant mentors (also pupils in a way) will graduate at level 60.
When the pupil graduates a window will open to allow the pupil to "rate" the mentor. (If no option is selected the mentor will receive Satisfactory)
When the pupil graduates, the buffs and the messenger windows will disappear
Mentor Rating and Fame Points
Upon the pupil's graduation the mentor will earn fame points and receive a "rating". Every server have a ranking of the mentor ratings. Top 50 mentors will receive attribute bonus (ATK, DEF increase) depending on their position in the ranking.
Fame points are used to purchase special items only usable by the mentor.
In case of equipments there will be a blue option indicating the number of times the equipment can be repaired. When this value goes to 0, the item cannot be repaired anymore. To increase this blue option, Fame Alchemy Stone must be purchased from the storage NPCs in each town.
Edit: Picture of the shop is out o_O Those look like SOS?!

Mentor/Pupil Messenger
Mentor and his pupils can easily communicate with a messenger feature. The transparency of this messenger can be adjusted.
