To read the in game Map or see your own locations on the map irrespective of X and Y:

Step 1: Hit M key on Keyboard
Step 2: You are the Yellow arrow , the pointed part of arrow = ur head or the direction which u are headed. Basically whats in front.

Step 3:If you are near a town (if say jangan, srry if miss spelled it) u see a town like icon with Jangan writen on it(i am assuming u have done step 1 already) double clicking it(LEFT MOUSE CLICK) will give u the town map.

Step 4:To return to the orignal World Map u see a little Globe like icon on the top right corner (of the map itself which i assume U opened by hitting M key).

Click or double click it and ur back to the World Map.

x:5432 and y:-32 means you are 32 above the ground at a certain height.
actually it id merely a different line you can walk. try waling along the x line so the x coordinates change but the y dont and vise versa try it

If Y= NEGATIVE For eg: x:5432 and y:-32 means you are 32 above the ground at a certain height. This usually happens if u go up some building say for ex: Stronghold mid Building gives u the above value.

Uh... no. It's simple 2d coordinates that you learn about in Algebra 1. X-axis and Y-axis. (0, 0) is located along a wall in Hotan.

more confused than ever.
According to this Either xy represent with reference to the GRAPH , it can u suggest X:300 , AND Y:-32 where Y = -32.
Now in game its in refrerence do distance so it can go up to 5000 somehting values but can u elaborate more . Lets take your own example and lets say if i am some where in HOTAN havinga x:3456 (random number for e.g.) and y:-32 (random number for e.g) what wud that mean :? .

it;s actually cartesian mathematics but.. if you havent studied it in school thats ok ill try to explain...

normally in maths, co-ords are quoted x first then y. so its (x,y).
then to visualise your position you locate the x number on the x axis.
then you locate the y number on the y axis.
then you visualise 2 lines :-

one cutting through the x number on the x asix at 90 degrees up and down; the seond one cutting through the y number on the y axis up and
down.

where these 2 lines intersect is your location.

hope that helps. as you can see north and south doesnt matter in cartesian maths because those 2 lines can only intersect in one location.

its with the 2 lines (I am just 13 years old but we have that a half year ago with maths.)

It's with the Hotan is a point 0,0 and every step will make a change. so if u go West(left) of hotan than ur X will go negative, when u go East(right) of hotan ur X will go positve. And if u go South(down) of Hotan ur Y will be negative and if u go North(up) of Hotan ur Y will be positive.

Exemple: If u go 1000 moves to the East and 500 moves to the South from Hotan(0,0) your coordinates will be: (1000,-500).

I hope this may help.

Yea, and when givin map coordinatinates, u need to locate the area first (area is written above actual coordinates) or else ppl have no idea where u are. Example: Tarim Basin : x 447, y 2231
