I used GigaGet for the PW download. It was recommended to me by someone who said it is very good for foreign sources or something like that. It gave me 700 kB/s on part 1 (mirror 3) and about 350 kB/s on part 2 (mirror 3). Not at the same time.

So yeah I just spend a little over an hour on the character customization screen trying to make "me". In your userdata\userpic\ folder there are files labeled 1.gif through 6.gif; replace these with pictures of yourself (or whoever) and you can open them in the character creation screen in a resizable, zoomable window with a transparency slider, so you can "trace" your features... kind of. I was very frustrated. There are tons of presets but some of the sliders don't have a lot of range, there's not a ton of body options just a lot of face ones (I can't change shoulder width without also changing chest depth), and everything leans toward the asian in appearance. That makes sense but it also makes it reeeeeally hard for me to make a "me". Also for facial hair you've either got stubble or several inches plus, nothing in between.

So yeah some people will find it very hard to make their character look like themselves. I guess you can be a wolf/lion/tiger/panda person in that case. Not much to customize with that race, though. The guys are very animal-looking and the girls are just normal with cat ears and a fox tail.

I was a bit disappointed but only because the hype led me to believe I could really make a character that looked like me. Despite its flaws this game still has better customization options than any MMO I've played before.

w/ flash, I was able to dl part 1 in 30 min, and part 2 in 25. Problem was that it kept resetting, so it didn't work out.

Anyways, I'm doing bittorrent dl now. Hopefully, it will work. Btw, what's your IGN? what race did you play? I plan on playing human mage, but I might do elf healer.

I didn't end up creating a char actually, after I spent an hour trying to make one that looked like me, and then accidentally erased it by clicking something in Chinese that turned out to be a preset character model. I got kind of frustrated and then I had cake night and guests to deal with.

I... can't read the server names... anyway since the English beta is coming I wasn't planning on playing much, just getting a look at the graphics and a feel for the play.

" just getting a look at the graphics and a feel for the play."

That's how my addiction started. :banghead:

Hello.

Well, Ijji now owns an English version of GoonZu, called "Luminary."
I'm going back to this game as of now. :) I'll try my luck @ the market and become a cooking specialist. :D

I played this game a LONG time ago like 3+ years, it was fun and shit, i liked the daily 2x exp and 2x drop feature. Now ijji took it and raped it and gave it a new name >_>

The gameplay is pretty interesting, though. I just got a lvl 86 mentor, who is the same class as me, and is hookin' me up with advice, items, and escorts. :D

Gameplay seems interesting.. I don't mind the graphics as long the gameplay is worth it.

@CrimsonNuker

What do you mean by "Ijji raped it".. Did something really bad happened to it?

Gonna start downloading later, when my download speed goes back to normal.

Can I add you to my xfire friends list?

And thank you for bumping this... Since I was really looking for a decent MMO where gameplay isn't just about killing other people.

lol, silly me :D ... didn't noticed that. Ok.. I'm downloading the client now at 300-450kbps which will be done in done in 30mins.

Could you give me a quick explanation of the classes, which server you are playing.. and probably tell me the things that I should keep an eye on or stuff.

Edit: Done with downloading... I guess I have to experiment with the game on my own :P .

Having problems with starting the game... Everytime I launch via ijji website.. I keep getting "Visual Studio Debugging" errors. I think it's because I have FireFox 3 Beta 4 and the ijji plugin isn't compatible with it yet.

Sorry for the double post.

Edit: Finally got my launcher working... had to uninstall FF before installing the launcher. Darn.. 2 hours for that?.. geez.. they could have made stand alone launchers for each of their games.

Anyway, I'm patching as we speak.. looking through the forum, I saw that "Hera" is the younger server.. So I'll probably make my test char their until I get into the mood of playing it for real.

I'm on Athena. And the launcher works perfectly fine if you run it from IE.

Theres not much I can tell you, but there aren't "classes" per-say. Just weapon specialties.

http://luminary.ijji.com/guide.nhn?m=customization

Reading the 'Game Guide' is very useful, and I reccomend it.

http://luminary.ijji.com/guide.nhn?m=howtostart

Just browse through the tabs on the sides and you'll have everything you basically need to play the game.

Add "Draquish" if you ever decide to switch to Athena. :D
