Now, i'm a level 70 nuker on Oasis. A guildmate told me to replace my lightning imbue with the fire one because it caused much more damage.
So I took a look at the numbers, and yes, it should do much more damage.
I took the fire book to third book max, just like the lightning. Got a guild mate to help me test it, I nuked him about 30 times with the fire imbue. About 10% of the nukes would hit around the same as a lightning imbue nuke. The other 90% would hit WAY less, I mean significantly less (2-3k less), I was shocked, hence the testing it with 30+ nukes. Now, i'm using an sos spear with 211 attack rating and 1400+ max mag attack (112% int balance). I should have been hitting almost my max everytime with an attack rating like that. There shouldn't have been such huge differences with the fire imbue.
So I'd just like to share with everyone that the lightning imbue it much superior (Because of the split second shock status which reduces parry ratio), feel free to argue. But I did many tests, heuksal and nukes. Just letting all you other nukers know.

I'm a young nuker (lv 31) but last night I also switched over from my lightning to fire imbue and I am pretty sure my damage suffered. I wasn't gonna say anything because maybe it evens out in the end, but now I'm kinda sad that I switched heh.

Have you tested it on someone who's immune to electric shock?

The damage output of your fire imbue may also be less than your lightning imbue because of a discrepancy in your lightning and fire levels. Remember that you get a 1% damage increase for every level, so take that into consideration.

And it may not merely be 1% final damage taken by your enemy; if it's 1% to damage earlier in the calculation it may end up to be 5% or more effective damage against an enemy.

Plus you are forgetting the burn damage that lightning does not posses.

For 1k silk I can test this theory for you
I got fire 65, lightning 61. If I find a way to get enough SP I will test it out.

my last character i changed from lightiong to fire around lvl 40 becuz "fire is so much more powerful..." or so everyone told me.
now the buffs and passives that go along with fire are great, but as for the imbues i was doing at lvl 43 around 400-500 less damage on every kind of attack using fire - switching to fire was a terrible decision and the character never really recovered

Soul Fire Force at lvl 69 does 351~584 or an avg of 467.5.
Thunder Dragon Force at lvl 69 does 286~429 or an avg of 357.5 (25% less)
If you're only hitting a couple of times (eg nuker), fire is far and away the best force. If you're going to be hitting more often, (eg str) lightning does less damage until the effect takes hold. However, since a str user is most likely maxing fire anyway for the buffs, it's still a tossup. That said, once everyone at high lvls is immune to all 3 forces, fire is the best, hands down.

wait soooo...fire imbue does less damage overall than lightening imbue? Is this only with the use of nukes (Imbue+Nuke=Damage) or with weapons as well?
~.~ this is awesome thread coz I started a new char, and so far I only have 1 for fire imbue
=D phew not much sp wasted there

Not really, ice for bow may not be so good in pvp, but ice bow is still good for pve.

Right in a logical sense. But completely wrong on the battlefield.
As I said, it was the clear decision to go with fire. But it does MUCH less than the lightning imbue. I thoroughly tested both before I purchased more skill re-allocation potions.
SSS and Ghost spear did less with fire, and so did nukes. VERY noticable.
That decrease in parry ratio must be huge, it definitely makes a difference.

So for a hybrid nuker.....
Lightning imbue + nukes is the way to go? With a second fire nuke as support? And ditch the fire imbue...
I'm rather confused.
