Disable also gold (prevent gold farm) but increase the item drop a bit more to compensate. So people can only get money with item drops.

We are currently waiting for the hosting for start the beta. Basic stuff is done and the game is playable already.
We will probably start with low cap (70 or so) and keep increasing it eventually, like someone suggested here, so we can have more time for find and fix bugs and add more features.

Theoretically yes, we can link as many agent/gameservers as we want, and the host will be enough powerful for handle them all. Anyway as I said earlier, we don't expect that high amount of players, everyone is crazy with the high-rate server fever right now :)

If you limit it to caps then no problems.

Also can you ensure your server isn't retarded with SoS, and SoN weapons? It's actually an annoyance on these high rate servers.

A severely superior weapon or gear reward given randomnly from grinding is the most retarded aspect of Silkroad Online. Personally I'd just get rid of it from the game entirely since boss es in this game are no more than masses or people spamming 213412341 without any strategy.

Unless Myth Online can somehow make some of these better gear as rewards for PvPing as PvE in Silkroad is mindless.

Silkroad's PvP I think can be fun, but instead people spend days and months farming the same mobs grinding away hoping for a random job instead of having fun in PvP. Maybe if you made them PvP rewards we'd see a lot more. For example completing a 5 star trade/thief run rewards a player with 1 token and say a SoN weapon requires 500 tokens or something. Can also get tokens from say Arena etc.

Yeah, totally agree with what he says.

This will definitely increase the people's interest to keep the server very active. I rarely see people doing trade runs... This game is called "Silkroad", not "botroad". I believe people would like to see traders, hunters and theives instead of bots, taxies and gold farmers. There will be no need to farm gold if you have the reward things involved.

We are almost done, taking some time for choose the proper hosting and protection and working on the last things on the client.

Is it possible to just remove Nova/SoX weapons and gear? I think they ruin the game more than good. This is what I think is the effect of including Sox/Nova.

1). Mass of botting, multi-client farming for SoX/Nova weapons.

2). Economy is destroyed as people try and cheat their way to amass enough gold to buy SoX/Nova weapons.

3). Few people just by pure random chance are now overpowered.

By Getting rid of them, this is what I see.

- More activity. People will be less focused on 1 v 1. As if everyone is using +3 - +5 weapons, then 1 v 1 becomes far more boring and people will be focused on Guild Wars, Arena, or Jobbing.

- The game becomes less about the individual and more about team play.

I don't think so, seal items are an important part of the gameplay, we want to change some stuff but that is too much.
1) There won't be botting, multiclient will be hard, IP limit will be 3/5 (not decided yet)
2) People don't scam for buy sox items
3) Actually people get maybe 1 or 2 sox drops randomly, that doesn't make them overpowered.

We are already working on some features for make the job system the most important part of the game. The job cap level will be the same as the current level cap (70) and only the people who work together for make trades or for steal them will get powerful items. We are still polishing the idea, not sure if it will be added with the release of the server, but it will be added for sure soon or later. We can't give more details about it for avoid other people stealing the idea. Just imagine the things from the new job update on iSRO, but without the bad parts.

Yeah, that was probably the worst update Joymax made, but some ideas of the job system are actually nice and could be implemented using the old job system. You will like it ^^
