can you no longer attack the 1* popper who is trying to pop you? I attacked a popper on my other char, but I cant seem to do it again today(thought I'd freeze the popper and run away, but the game wont let me)

fcking cck-scking hunters stood by and did nothing

I've had a question about thiefing actually.. how do you tell a 1* from a 2+* trade run?

This is the first time I stuck with a character past jobbing level so I'm completely clueless. :?

There is no way to be sure if they are 1* or 2*, but you can somewhat tell by the amount of thieves the trader spawns. If there are 2 thieves or more, then it's 2*. However, 1* trades can double spawn, so instead of spawning 1 thief, it spawns more.

I love(d) popping traders :love:

Specially ice thief... he is my favorite :D He can make camel slow... or he attacks the player and player can't run away lol

Even with 70 vs a trader who was 70 too.... you make 4-5 orange thief on him and he'll go down too. You just stand back n watch the show. After he falls, thieves go crazy and get the other traders or lowbies nearby.... massacre!

This one time

Trader was 70 too.... right. So he kept killing my thieves.... BUT! He ran out of pills, and I had 2 ice thief

So he was stuck in place and couldn't do anything LOLOL!!!

Like 5 minutes of being stuck he musta gave up, and just died or something

*sigh*

aaaa i hate double spawns lmao. somthimes i think its a 2* then i throw my suit on and its a 1*! and im nowhere near a ferry to regenerate my thief suit lmao.

and Ryoko's opinion on ice thieves

but they get sooo anoying when they turn on you lol.

haven't had a problem with poppers until last night. Did 2 runs and both got jacked by (1) 65+ thief with a +5 Glaive and(1) 60 Thief with SOS glaive...they caught me with their horses...I was on horse too (White)...

for some reason, I thought they fixed the thief spawn to attack the horse/camel/bull it spawns for first...must been mistaken...no big deal, I just go back to town and take long ways....

Used to bitch about the poppers but its apart of the game...blah...

Oh yeah, 1*'s can double spawn thieves...It happened to me all the time...It may just happen at a certain character level because I never saw it happen when I was 20'ish or early 30'ish...

but since I been 40 ish...its been the norm...

besides, it just look really stupid for a lvl70+ thief with an ox circling around the east ferry intersection the entire day waiting for 1 star while no thieves are watching for HT to DW routes. ever since me and a lvl58 guy became friends we never go DW to JG because too many thieves, instead we go HT to DW and we've never seen any player thieves along the way.

I read that NPC thieves are programmed to attack traders then hunters then thiefs then regular players. Now, when in this order, the player takes priority. That means if they are not in range or on the transport, NPC thief will attack transport. Once you get off, boom. They're on you.

What do you think about limiting a npc thief to not be able to attack players 10 levels below it? It would get rid of the type of 1 star popping where level 60s pick on lvl 20 traders who have absolutely no money and depend on trading to get funding. Example for me is that im lvl 25 and im dirt poor, i got 1 star popped and i was down to 2k. I had no money to even start a new trade or buy pots. I wouldnt mind if there was no one star popping behond 10 levels.

This would also stop those thieves who sit out in front of jangan letting lvl 60 thieves spawn on lvl 10s who are leveling or pvping.

Yeah but that is stacked on the side of the people who have full farming som sets, characters funded by lvl 80s with nearly a billion gold. Its still stacked for 1 stars. I think its a good thing they have them so that people can make money without having to worry about being ganked by some rich char.

the point of hunters is to gaurd merchants lol. not just for the soul purpose of killing thieves.

So I understand since I too am 2x and not jobbing yet (just grinding for gold/sp/drops), a 1* trade doesn't look different from 2* and > runs. So a 1* could be a horse, camel or bull, what about multiple horses/camels/bulls?

On thief spawning, for 1*, is it one spawns at a time until killed and then another one spawns, then another but not necessary right then? And multi-stars, there can be multiple npc thieves spawning all around the trade? I have to say within the last few weeks around the Jang crossroads I have seen many trades and many multi-npc spawns. Does that possibly mean there are more 2* trades going on?

Lastly, on an etiquette note. If I am grinding and a trade come by, let's say in this example there is a single trader and one horse. NPC thief/thieves spawn near or around me, do I kill them, help the trader, or run away and hope I don't get ice/electric archered while running away?

OT: After getting 60, I decided I would go on my first trade run, hotan to dw, probably the safest way possible.
Popped by an 80. Sad thing is, he took like 5 mins to kill me, cuz fire ox for life lol.
