I would almost say that while they are harder to maintain, these relationships force you to see someones personality, and to just see that. How many people have relationships for purely physical reasons? And nobody can look at someone and see their personality. I personally couldn't pull it off, but if you can handle the long distance part of it I don't see what the big deal is.
You are not gonna meet the perfect people in your town always. They may be off in California, in France, in Holland, in Spain, maybe a few cities over from you. I don't get why people give such a problem to people who have internet relationships.
*claps*
I totally agree.

My name is Nick. It's not a big deal.
Anyways you guys all misread, I don't have anything against internet dating. I was merely asking the question: if asked out or hit on by someone you can see everyday, would you say 'no, I've already got a boyfriend/girlfriend?'
...Would you forgoe all sexual contact except for your own hand just to be faithful to someone who you at the most look at and talk to over a webcam?
Living with somebody day in/day out is completely different from falling in 'love' with someone's personality. Dating somebody over the internet is a completely different world than dating in real life.

Little different is it but think about is first step to meet someone over internet and next step can be meet outside from internet and I know some are married now and working fine for them...
And P.s was no webcam involved

BlackChocobo,
What's with you? If they choose each other to be the special someone, let them be. How they choose to run their lives if up to them. Don't butt in.
And you said: "But yeah bottomline, you ain't boning your online girlfriend. Therefore, you're not in a REAL relationship. You're in an ONLINE relationship." That's just your superficial definition of a relationship. I see nothing wrong with two people caring for one another and being happy because they have each other.

There is nothing wrong with online relationships. As long as if you decide to meet someone to have someone else with you..

Idk why it's so hard to answer Black's question.
Let's face it sex is a vital portion of a relationship, whether for enjoyment, or to conceive a child. All he wants to know is would they turn down an offer from someone they know personally because of their ties with someone over the internet.
Is that so hard to answer? Or are you all afraid of looking like a bad person by saying you would take the offer?
I for one would take the offer, without a doubt.

But its not all about sex..
There are couples that don't have sex before getting married.

Well it's like you go to a funeral and ask the widow when is she gonna marry again. Being considerate FTW!

Then that's your choice, just as it is their choice to engage in an online relationship.
I think Black's question was just a little too personal for open discussion.

Sorry, I'm an asshole.
And seriously you people need to calm down and READ WHAT I SAY. I have nothing against people dating over the internet. Whatever floats your boat, I really don't care all that much. I'm simply curious as to the question I've asked...I don't know how many times.
Gandalf I'm not superficial because I believe being physical is an essential part of a healthy relationship. It's simply my definition.

Lol @ the whole thread. Man it was intended to be a congratulatory post on a 5 month(who celebrates aniversaries by every month...? ) anniversary, and I turned it into a debate about online dating.
Man I'm an asshole.
The funny part? I've had an online girlfriend back in the day in my early stages of Runescape. I already told you fools, I have nothing in particular against online dating. I was asking a simple question in relation to online dating - a question all but Zero himself(though I bet it was a lie, his girlfriend is reading ) avoided. I wonder why?
