Pretty tired of all bot blaming and flaming too. There's already too much of that in-game. And whenever you see that in forums, you end up like this:
a) you understand you cant do anything about it,which makes you feel bad;
b) you get blamed for not having a life, which makes you feel even worse.

Just which forum are you talking about?

Seems to me you have this forum mixed up with another which totaly doesn't care about what ever anyone says. Here they do.

STFU. If you can't can't handle it take two dispirin and if the pain continues call a doctor in the morning.

Personally, I don't think all accusations should be removed from the forums. I think that if you have screenshots and other evidence that may prove your point, why not let others know about a possible botter. Then people will give that person a chance to explain or refute what the accuser presented.

Even though I think this way, I also think people should have the decency to have consideration for other people. Just because you "think" someone bots, it doesn't give you the right to put a smudge on his/her reputation. When I see constant flaming or bot accusing, I consider it the same as when people use CAPS LOCK TO WRITE IN FORUMS, or tey use mispeled werd evrywer, or even when they want to know what's going on?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? It's all spam.

Anyway, back to the quote. It doesn't matter what you think, what you want, or how right you may be. It's against the rules. End of story. You don't go into Wendy's and just walk into the kitchen in the back and help yourself to some food when you are hungry. You can't just say, "But I should be able to because I was starving. It isn't right to let me be in pain." When you are late for work/school/some destination and someone runs into you on the road... you can't just pull out a gun and blow them off the face of the earth. If you do, it doesn't matter what your reasoning is. It's against the law and you will face the consequences of your crime.

These scenarios were kind of dumb examples, but they go with my point. It could even be that someone harasses your little brother everyday in school and makes him suffer every day. As much as you may want to, you can't lay a hand on that other person. (not saying I wouldn't...) You have to go through the steps of talking to teachers, counselors, etc to possibly come to a solution. It's just the way the rules and laws are set up. Although something may seem unfair and no justice is taken, you just have to accept it.

This is a forum for SilkRoad and SilkRoad is full to bursting with bots... it is no wonder there are so many threads about this issue.

However, proofless accusations of any nature should not be tolerated.

I am all with PureOwnage on most issues he so passionately gets involved in. I think if people like him and his opinions were removed from this forum it would lose interest to me.

MrJoey should be a forum mod for Ritelin online.

But again... proofless accusations are pointless and slander. Such defamation of character is not needed.

This forum has changed so much in the last year

it has changed a lot some things are positive but this is one of the negative effects of strict rules.

funny thing abt such flame wars are usually legits vs legits ... botters juz sit back and watch legits argue among themselves abt bot topics and accusations.

if you really want to make this forum a better place, joey, then stop your sarcastic posts. It's not helping. All you do is complain.

Then you have absolutely no life to care for such a game as much as your life. People treat this game as if it was a war, well its just to have fun. I also understand that bots are ruining the fun. Well you know what? Life is never fair, life goes on. Go find another game, bots would never be completely wiped out, so for all those anti-bots, please stop hoping for a happy ending. Im an anti-bot myself, I understand everything, but does it mean you should blow it out of your mouth, keep it to yourself, dont accuse someone unless there is absolute proof. BlackFox is obviously not SpiritPower, spiritpower has decently poor english and BlackFox on the other hand, does not have poor english. Theres already another massive ban coming up, maybe that would cheer us up

Anyone else noticing similarities to that really boring book, The Crucible? You know, where everyone accused everyone else of being a witch, but in the end it turned out that it was just a bunch of angsty teenagers who couldn't get any cause of their puritan lifestyle.

Seems to me like this whole "accusing of bots" thing has gotten out of hand. I don't support botting, and am the first one in my union to ban bots or push for banning when one is found. But seriously, this shit is getting old. Every day I come online hoping to see something about some cool item drop or some cool trade/thief run, but instead we get to read about how another person in this forum is a bot. Has the game really gotten so bad that instead of enjoying thief and trade runs, the players of the game would rather take on the stress of finding proof that someone bots?

personally i almost stopped SRO, there are too many sosun botters and a bunch of hypocrytes who have a legit account and others accounts with some gold bots.
the other day i loged in to thief a little bit.

1 - some BHA member named Karyna and mike 2005 came to me as hunters so i attacked them. Once the pvp was over i was going to the east ferry until i heard someone talking to them " What happened ??? " Karyna : " some caped botters killed us " so that s what happens for beeing a legit 80 player all u get is bot accusation from random ppl u never heard of.
2 - nothing to thief. no loots on floor, no traders multi so i was looking around hoping to find something...
3 - then later, some sosun bots from Kiep do den guild or osmething like that showed bot and killed me
4 - i logged off.

that s how is sro for 80 legit players. there isn't any reason to me to play. 9x% aren't legit, botting or any other form of not respecting the TOS. and a few legit or even bots accuse me of botting, i don't give a shit but well, just can conclude one thing , the SRO community is really farked up ( at least on XIAN ) so i log in 2 times per week or 1... or 0 now. And i didn't start an other mmorpg yet...

I'm missing something I guess. Your not the first person to say this. What does everyone mean by the accusing is getting out of hand. I, myself, haven't seen very much of it. I see some here and there... but it doesn't really bother me. Maybe in the past there were never accusations, so having a couple here and there is just completely different. If someone starts accusing someone of bots, just let the mods take care of it.

And as for MrJoey... I'm not saying this is true, but some people say you go around telling them they have been added to your list. I would stop that (if this is true). There's no need to get people riled up. Just record their names and posts and let a mod know about it. Telling people that you are going to turn them in just gets them angry. If the previous was true... I'm thinking a possible reason you would post everywhere to tell people they will be turned in... is for post count. Either that or you just like to agitate people. I'm not claiming any of this. I'm just putting out what I've seen and what my thoughts are at this time. Maybe you could correct me in something I've said.

With all that being said... just stop complaining about people complaining about bots. You are doing the same thing. Let the mods take care of what they are meant to take care of.

But now you can feel how I feel when someone BLABLA to me...

I have to say, I agree with the original poster that bot accusations do not belong on these forums. I don't support bots either myself, and neither do these forums.

However, when you go into thread after thread and see constant posts like "ZOMG U BOTTER!!!" or "hahaha look at that chat, you're a botter!!!" it really brings down the quality of the thread and even the forum itself. It's a much more pleasant atmosphere when there aren't all these flames and accusations all the time.

If you see someone you think you should accuse, do it in game I guess. What good does it do to accuse someone within these forums? If your goal is to get them banned from SRF because they indeed do bot/scam/hack/whatever, PM an SRF mod. Keep the threads clean.

Openly admitting to botting will get you banned. Adding you to the list is not needed.


This is kind of off topic... but you don't want to use "however" where you used it. However is like you are about to offer some evidence contrary to what you previously said. You may want to use something like "furthermore" or something along those lines.

Some people seem to think I'm going to report every flame. I've only said that a person has been added twice, and that was in the same topic, no need for that dumb topic someone made. This forum started degenerating when people started accusing this and that person of botting. That is all I'm keeping track of, the bot accusations. It is my hope, that by getting rid of those, that the forums will go back to the friendly atmosphere it had back when I first started coming here. Just because someone is a botter, doesn't make them less of a person, they can still contribute to a forum, and make it a better place overall. So, stop bot accusations, and you wont have to worry about being reported by me.

Reporting ppl for any reason is fine, that is your Prerogative.

Reporting ppl to the Mods will not make you a pariah, policing threads to the point of telling people in the thread you are "dibber-dobbing" on them will!!

Just use some common sense, we don't need you to be the forum police!

I can't help but laugh at these people who have only been around for a few months (if even that) who are tellling US (people who have been here for over a year) what the fate of the forum is, how the forum runs, and why people post here.

If you awnt to start bot bullshit, do so in game, do so on official forums, do so on other forums, wherever, don't do it here. I will personally see to it that whoever keeps up the bot accusations get what's coming to them.

As hellsharpt once said in another thread about the situation of the forum "if you are not helping, chances are you're hurting"
We need more people like MrJoey, to help the staff find troublemakers and deal with them. I would like to thank every person who has sent a PM to me or any other moderator notifying us of a thread that needs locking/cleaning, a forum getting spammed by an angry user, or anything else that needs to be dealt with.

One last thing, if you can't handle forum policy, you don't belong here. It's simple as that. You should have read the Forum Rules you have agreed to the Registration Terms and you should review the 5 easy ways to get banned from SRF if you have not done so already. If there is still a problem, as I said previously.
