I know that there is a chance of the weapon breaking but i mean do lots of people go it all w/o immortal... i mean i know enough to use steady but it should be probable that the weapon won't break, right?

I've had 2 72+5 bows dissappear after trying to plus 6 them in a 10 minute period. You think you'll get lucky? Go for it.

When you go past +5, and attempt to enchant +6, and fail... one of two things happen:

1. Enchantment goes to +0 and you loose durability (prevented by steady)
2. Wpn breaks (prevented by immortal)

So if you fail, you hv a 50% chance of getting the item destroyed.

ehh not always , I had spear that I kept +4 with astal and made plenty of chances to +6 or higher, sometime it will lose only the enchantment

Your weapon can get destroyed if you try for +5 or higher the chances of it happening get higher with the hight of the +'s.

Yet it is allready possible at trying +5 seeing a long time ago an old guildm8 came asking what happened to his SoS 42 spear when he tried to +5 it without immortal and it dissapeared and he wanted to get it back but didn't know how.

But i have gotten two things to +7 without immortal so far, one sword and a shield that failed to +8 and got dura reduce. And a few days ago i destroyed a spear that failed from +6 to +7.

So if its your main weapon and you need it. Don't do it without immortal.

I always loose either immortal or steady (never tried enchanting without it), everytime I tried to +6 and fail. But now that you've mention this it does make sense :/.

about half the time i have tried to go past 5 i loose an immortal if i fail so if that immortal wasnt there i guess thats a turfed wep.

Prolly better to try with a decent drop rather then your main wep since it would suk to destroy a full blue wep...alot easier to blue a wep then get it +7 no ast/imm

pends if you can afford the risk, because its a 50/50 chance, but you probably have better odds of breaking them than actually +7 them
